Everglades Explorer Experience

Embark on a serene expedition into the heart of Australia’s only Everglades, a realm where ancient landscapes reflect upon tranquil waters, and nature showcases its timeless beauty. Located at the Northern end of the Noosa River, inside the dunes of the Cooloola National Park, this pristine wilderness plays host to over 44% of Australia’s bird species.

Here, the pure fresh water of the Cooloola Sandmass weaves its way through the tea tree ecosystem, giving birth to some of the most breathtaking reflections known to mankind. Our eco-tour presents a choice: either relax and immerse yourself in the splendors of the Everglades aboard our specially designed eco boats or engage in a more active experience, canoeing to our unique destinations. Whichever path you choose, we promise a day filled with unforgettable memories.

What To Expect:

Your adventure commences with a picturesque cruise across the shimmering Lake Cootharaba, where the gateway to Australia’s unique Everglades awaits. At Fig Tree Point, you’re presented with options: embark on a 600m rainforest walk or glide upstream in a Canadian-style canoe through “The River of Mirrors”, revealing nature’s grand tapestry.

Our knowledgeable guides will be your companions, narrating tales of the flora, fauna, and rich heritage that blankets this region. Discover millennia-old sub-tropical rainforests nestled within the confines of the Cooloola National Park, as you refresh with a light snack on tour.

A unique feature of this tour is the diverse avian life – with the Everglades housing almost half of Australia’s bird species. On returning to Habitat Noosa, take a moment to unwind – perhaps with a craft beer from our Micro-brewery, a dish from our bistro, or explore the surroundings of our EcoCamp.
