I know I have… and its not really the camera I’m worried about its the memories and photos that were on it.

I bet its either happened to you or at least someone you know. I’v had it happen to me and lost 2 days of video/photos of me riding a bike down the coast of Thailand! Even the evidence of me covered in Elephant shit was on there, at least that memory still makes me smile.

But its not all bad, a friend of mine recently lost their camera, someone posted some of the photos on Facebook and their camera and photos were returned! How awesome is that!
See, there are actually nice people in the world :)

Today, I have came across 2 websites that do just that, help those who have lost their camera find it, or people who found a camera post it. 1 site will even let you upload a photo taken from the same camera and search for other photos taken with the same camera! (using the serial number)[/cs_text][x_feature_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h4″ icon=”lightbulb-o”]My Top Tips to help get your lost camera back[/x_feature_headline][cs_text]

  1. Take a photo of your address or name tag on your suit case…
This way if someone does find your camera… They know where to return it to :)
  2. Take your memory card out of the camera.. And see if your camera still allows you to take a few photos. If it does take a photo of your address and keep it stored on the camera not the card.
  3. Lock the photo. Most cameras allow to lock photos so they can’t be deleted (Unless the card is formatted). This way it can’t be accidently deleted.
[/cs_text][cs_text]The sites for finding your missing cameras are:
Stolen Camera Finder – http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/
Camera Found – http://www.camerafound.com/

And the only real way to make these kinds of sites work, its by spreading their existence to others. So when they find a camera they can post the info on-line and share some of the photos.
Could you image how happy you would be if all your holiday happy snaps were returned to you!
Keep this in mind the next time you or a friend finds a camera or even a phone!
