Bintang

Bintang is the best selling and most popular beer in Indonesia. It has a distinct flavour of malt and hops, and it is similar flavour to a Heineken. A bottle of Bintang is about 4.7% alcohol. The cost of this beer in Bali can range from anywhere from Rp 15,000 (AU$1.50) to Rp 90,000 (Au$9) for a standard bottle.

Anker Beer

Anker beer has a stronger taste to its competitor Bingtang beer, and cost about the same.

Bali Hai

Bali Hai is a bland cheap local beer. It is actually brewed in Jakarta and not Bali.

Arak

Arak (Arrack) is a distilled alcoholic drink that can be made from different ingredients, but in Bali tends to be made from coconut palm flower or rice. Arak can be as strong as 70% alcohol.

Bali Moon

Bali Moon is a flavoured liqueur. It comes in different flavors including; coffee, pineapple, banana, coconut, and melon. They usually cost anywhere from IDR 30,000 ($3.20) to IDR 100,000 ($10.60).

Tuak

Tuak is a type of rice wine. It is made from rice, sugar, and yeast. It has a sharp biting taste that not everyone will appreciate.

Low End:

Bintang / Beers – $1.50 to $3 (Cheaper at the supermarket by the carton)
Cocktails – Good luck, find the 2 for 1 deals

Mid Range:

If you go to some of the beach front resorts like Poatohead or the W Hotel your average prices will be as follows
Bintang / Beers – AU$4 to AU$6.
Cocktails – AU$6 to AU$8

High End:

If you want a drink of a cocktail at a nicer resort your going to fork out more than anywhere else.
Bintang – AU$9
Cocktails – AU$16 (be on the look out for there 2 for 1 deals)
Cigarettes – Rp 15,000-20,000 (AU$1.50 – $3.00)

Beer & Spirits:

You find alcohol sold in most Circle K stores or corner type stores. But you will find a bigger selection in the Bingtang & Hardy’s Store.

Wine:

Hardy’s, Bintang etc sell a decent range of wines as well as other drinks, beers and spirits.
Popular Bali Wines include; Hatten, Artisan, Two Islands.
